Frank Fahrenkopf has served as the CEO and president of the American Gaming Association since it was founded in 1995. Fahrenkopf announced earlier this week that he will be retiring in June. However, he has agreed to remain as advisor to his successor and other AGA executives through the end of the year.
Fahrenkopf was a prominent figure in the gaming community. He represented a number of different groups in the gaming industry over the years. Fahrenkopf often found it difficult to represent the interests of the various groups, because they often had conflicting needs or opinions. However, the gaming community has appreciated everything Fahrenkopf has done to look out for their collective interests. He has helped the American Gaming Association lobby for new legislation at both the state and federal level.
Richard Haddrill, chairman of the American Gaming Association, said that Fahrenkopf was a commendable leader. Haddrill said that Fahrenkopf faced numerous challenges over the years, but always did his part to move the industry further. The gaming industry has grown considerably and currently plays an important role in the global economy. Haddrill said that Fahrenkopf?s commitment to the industry is one of the primary reasons it has grown to the degree that it has.
The American Gaming Association has remained divided on the issue of online gaming. Fahrenkopf has suggested that the organization conduct additional research before advocating for online gaming legislation one way or the other. His successor will need to decide whether to lobby in support of new legislation.
The AGA is currently looking for a new CEO and president. No potential successors have been named at this time.
