VENT: Three Babyshowers?!

I'm sorry you're struggling.nbsp; I had a hard time at first when the two closest women to me announced days apart it was also my first medicated cycle, which failed completely.nbsp; I quickly got over it because I decided my friendship with them was much more important than impatience and that I was truly happy for them.
As for the three showers I think her reasoning is crappy aiming for more gifts, but at first I was like Emerald and wondering if three showers is that abnormal?nbsp; I know women often have two wedding showers one for each side.nbsp; Maybe that's normal for baby showers, as well?nbsp; I guess, as long as she doesn't invite people to more than one shower, I don't see the big deal.nbsp; She's essentially splitting up the hostess duties between three people/showers instead of having one giant shindig for both sides and friends.
That said, I'm from the Midwest, where many of our 'traditions' are more relaxed and often against 'proper etiquette', so I'm not really the one say if it's normal or 'okay'.

Yeah. Another thought I had was that the cost of the shower falls to the hostess, so it is kind of nice that each shower is littler...shares the responsibility, etc.

Here, this is not an uncommon occurrence, but for the reasons I stated above, mostly.

I do have a friend whose husband ASKED several people, all friends, to host several different showers to which all of the same people were invited. Very poor etiquette and super gift grabby! I didn't even attend one, but I did mail a gift...one gift to one shower. I only had one shower with maybe 15 guests. It was so fun!
